The grey is the clinking curawong (from their call). Only, in Tasmania, just to confuse things, the grey is black. The only visible difference between the two is that the grey has white tail covert feathers, Which, of course, are the hardest feathers to spot.
So far, I've gotten a few good shots of the black, but none of the grey.
The birds here certainly toy with me. I've been hearing the clinking curawong all day, every day, for the last week. Really, really loudly, and obviously close by, but when ever they take to the air they're 100 meters or more away. Damn cagey critters
I had a feeling they were just toying with me, saw the females (and non breeding males) everywhere but until i changed direction the head male eluded me
Steven, we don't have wrens in Malaysia. I was in Perth last year and I saw one of them fairy-wrens. Tried to shoot it but most of my shots turned out blurry.
You're welcome. Our Aussie wrens are worth the trouble. I spent ages yesterday trying to get a shot of a Red-Backed Fairy-wren. I missed him....but I will get him!
