Description:

this is not your average fruitfly

Habitat:

on Avens plant, several feet tall in a Boneset and Buddleia garden plot

Notes:

This individual was slowly trotting along the plant stem and stopping to hold its very conspicuous wings out at a 90o angle. Is it displaying or are the wings typically fixed in this position?
