Field Notes

Description:

Herbaceous annual with hairy stems and leaves giving it a grayish green color. Inflorescence are heads making it part of the aster family. Flower color ranges from cream through bright yellows and oranges.

Habitat:

I found these in pots at the edge of the Gentleman's Garden at Colonial Williamsburg, VA.

Notes:

These happen to be one of my favorite flowers. I love their sunny flowers and great smell.
