Description:

this is a larvae,u. It is brightly colored , with tuffs of hair-like setae. The head is bright red and the body has yellow and white strips, with a black stripe along the middle of the back. There are four white toothbrush-like tuffs that stand out from the back, and there is a grey-brown hair pencil at the hind end.

Habitat:

It hosts on several trees, including birch cherry, elm, fir, hickory and oak to name a few

Notes:

Touching the hairs will set off an allergic reaction in many humans.They can do a lot of damage on the tree leaves.
