I've found a similar-looking fungus on dead branches at my house (central PA) and ID'ed it as Stereum sp. (a crust fungus in the Stereaceae). Here's a link with info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereum. It's hard to tell if this is what yours is, but it looks superficially like what I've found. Hope this helps.
