Thanks Mark. I wish these flies would bother me instead of the blowflies and flesh flies when it's warm:) I've only seen a small handful of these little guys.
Amazing looking fly. I agree about the slightly chalcidish shaped rear legs and the head/eyes looks really slick.
Thanks Sckel! I don't think there is any relationship, but will check to be sure.
Interesting little fly. It reminds me of yellow wasps Chalcidoidea, including incredible hind legs, however, less prominent than in Chalcidoidea wasps. is there any relationship?
