Field Notes

Description:

Family of fairly large dark monkeys that were just relaxing in the branches of a big tree. There were 2 males and several females and young ones as far as I could tell.

Habitat:

In the branches of a large tree of to the side of the road leading to Diria National Park. Seasonally dry forest.

Notes:

The old male felt the need to show off his howling skills as I was taking the pictures. Very loud. I've heard them from a mile away.

Beautiful!! I hear them howling everyday but I have never been able to see them, their howling sound so menacing sometimes, specially in the afternoons. Thank you for sharing, Sigg.
What a fantastic series Sigg! The first shot showing the male howling is stunning.
