Description:

This sparrow's belly is marked with rufous chevrons and has a white eye ring. Its upper mandible is darker than the lower.

Notes:

Not exactly rare at the Ridgefield NWR but seen much less often than the Song Sparrow or the Golden-crowned Sparrow.
