Description:
This purple flower is winding down its blooming season, now that fall has arrived and is beginning to show signs of mature seed spires. Selfheal has been considered a medicinal for many years. The indian tribes used it to stop bleeding, both internal and external and it has astringent properties. The leaf is said to be edible in salads as well
