Description:

Three "Virginia deer" feeding on vegetation in the yard of a suburban house. Deer overpopulation is a growing problem in Fairfax County, Virginia USA. "[Fairfax] County wildlife biologist Victoria Monroe ... said while 20 deer per square mile is considered a healthy population density, some areas in Fairfax County exceed 400 per square mile. 'They’re thriving,' she said. 'They’re a prey species, and we just do not have the level of predation that would naturally be occurring to balance out the population.'" Habitat:

Residential community located in Fairfax County, Virginia USA, nearby the "Wildlife Sanctuary," one of seven small parks owned and maintained by the Community Association of Hollin Hills.
