Description:

One of several species of Pandanus in northern Papua, this small tree had fruit in varying stages of ripening.

Habitat:

This spotting at the high tide mark on ocean beach/front edge of coastal forest.

Notes:

The coordinate position of this spotting is imprecise.

I agree Seema. And Papua is considered as the most interesting place due to it's high endemicity and small number of research done there. Mr S Frazier must be very lucky to do research over there!
Indonesian forests are treasure-troves of fascinating flora and fauna!
I'll be waiting for it. Exciting!
Lovely plants! This make me think that it was "buah merah", but I'm wrong. Hehe ... May be you have to find the real "buah merah" (red fruit) - Pandanus conoideus - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandanus_conoideus
