Hi Keith Last month went to the same spot I saw this periwinkle and I'm glad to tell you that the plant has spread to a bigger area. You can see the new photos I took in the link below: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/9458348
I'll have to check if it's still there. Last time I went there I think I saw some variegated leafs in the spot where this one was but I'm not sure if it was from the Periwinkle because I was just passing through, next time I'll look closely =)
There is lots of Periwinkle in my area, but i've never seen variegated leaves before. You should save the plant in hopes the seeds might produce more odd plants like this.
