Field Notes

Description:

Dark blue colored bird with metallic sheen. Long beak and tube like tongue is used to suck nectar from tubular flowers. Sometimes hovers in flight while feeding. About 12cm in size.

Habitat:

Spotted near my house on a golden shower tree.
