Iridescent green head, large round white spot on cheeks, extensive white shoulder feathers.

Habitat:

Wetlands, lakes, and rivers.

Notes:

The Goldeneye is a relatively rare find at the Ridgefield NWR in southwestern Washington state. Pictured is a juvenile male.
