We have these bugs, called love bugs here in Florida. It was discovered in the 1960s here. Its Plecia nearctica, is a member of the family of march flies. Im very suprized you have them there too! The urban legend here is the government made them in a lab!! Lol Here is a photo I took of them too. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7219193
