Thanks to you both. Peter, I think you're right - I should go back and try to get a closer shot of the seed heads.
It is hard to tell without a closeup of the head of the plant but it resembles one of my spottings.....Woolgrass. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7186217
I believe this is another species of sedge.
