Description:

A small odd fly about 5 mm in length. The wings dip downwards about halfway along the abdomen. When alive, it held its wings closed against the upper abdomen. In the last 2 pictures it had died and the wing venation is visible. There is another tiny 2 mm fly next to it in the last picture.
This is a Rust Fly of the Family Psilidae. See this similar species: http://bugguide.net/node/view/206369.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Hi John, you are so right! I made the change. :)
Hi Lauren - actually the small insect in the last picture is another fly (not a wasp)
