Field Notes

Description:

Distinguished from the very similar Snow Goose by smaller size, shorter neck, and the lack of black "lips" on the bill. The blue form seen in Snow Goose is also much rarer in the Ross's.

Habitat:

This bird showed up one winter several years ago in the feral goose flock at L.A.'s Echo Park and has remained since.
