We don't often see black swallowtail here so this one was a rare treat for us.

Added to Animals with Warning Colors mission. The Black swallowtail & other species such as the Spicebush swallowtail & the black morph of the Eastern tiger swallowtail mimic the poisonous Pipevine swallowtail.
It's actually a buddleia aka butterfly bush. I've planted mainly native species but I did put in a few of these as the butterflies seem to love it so much!
