I think you're right Karen. I can see now that alice and nath's other spotting is Firethorn.
Dan, I don't see thorns from zoom in images. I think KarenL is right. Thanks Karen, Dan, and RobertShinn.
The leaves look more like cotoneaster to me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotoneaster Possibly c. horizontalis which is a popular wall shrub in Europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotoneaster_horizontalis
Thanks Dan. It looks like a Firethorn but I still need to see if it has thorns. My other unknown spotting is more Firethorn than this one. Are they the same?
