I had a beautiful orange pyracantha like this one in my garden in England. Every year we had blackbirds nesting in it as the dense branches & all the thorns gave them lots of protection. My cat used to spend hours trying to find a way to get at them but I'm happy to say never managed to!
Thanks KarenL. I think its a Pyracantha also. I'll edit!
How big are the fruit & does it have thorns? I'm thinking it looks like a pyracantha.
It sort of looks like a loquat tree. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loquat
