I looked at your pics and noticed you have the species name as swainsonii...both Sibley and Cornell have it as ustulatus...or is it or is your subspecies C. ustulatus swainsonii? I guess the bird is pretty common in some places but on the west coast of FL it's rather unusual. Glad you got to see it too. And good to have you as a contributor to Project Noah!
A first for me too! strong differences between subspecies. good pic.
Thanks..I was delighted to see it. There was also a first winter male Baltimore Oriole in the same tree.
