Field Notes

Description:

Spotted these blackberries while hiking in Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve, Oakland, CA. I am not sure if they are the native California Blackberry, the flowers look different. They were pretty tasty!

Habitat:

Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve, Oakland, CA.

they were very yummy! :)
@MicheleEvans-Ito: Agreed--but I was more afraid of the poison oak. Of course it was growing near the most ripe berries.
@MicheleEvans-Ito: it was really fun picking them in the "wild." I had only done that once before in Sebastopol, CA.
