Description:

This is a female because she has the darker veins within her orange wings and doesn't have the two little dots that would be at the centre of each hind wing if she were male.

Notes:

This little Monarch butterfly was maybe not the most bold and beautiful but she seemed to follow us as we explored the area... and considering she had migrated huge distances in spring, it's quite impressive for such a little animal..
