Field Notes

Description:

Shrub, fuzzy leaves, small fruit turning from green to orange

Habitat:

At the edge of Douglas fir/spruce/hemlock forest; maybe a domestic gone wild?

Notes:

The fruits aren't substantial enough to be considered to eat (and I don't know if they are edible); this photo is quite enlarged.

Species ID Suggestions

Unfortunately no, I'm not sure. I just thought Viburnum because of the white pubescence on the leaves.
That's an interesting suggestion. I have never noticed any flowers (though clearly it must have some to get fruit) and I drive by them every day, so it seems like it would not have been an ornamental planted for flowers. Do you have any suggestions about a particular variety of viburnum I could look at?
