Field Notes

Description:

Looks like a leaf, orange in color, its body is flat, six legs and a small bead like head, not much info on it as its rarely ever seen...its about the size of an american quarter and walks quite fast, not sure if it flies.

Habitat:

not sure...only seen on a leaf once by me.

Notes:

Not much to say except its very interesting and i'm glad to get his photo.

That is amazing! It looks like a real leaf!
This is not a leaf bug but as Keith said, a shield bug nymph. From the family Tessaratomidae. Very interesting! He carries his own excellent camaflouge with him.
