Brown beetle with darker brown markings.

Habitat:

Attracted to moth lights and sheet in rural park in large open area with sparse trees.

Very close to Aeolus mellillus, but A. scutellatus is also a possibility. I am reluctant to provide a species ID due to the comment made by Blaine Mathison in the reference link.
