Field Notes

Description:

yellow-orange cap, gills peach-colored, decurrent, more like ridges with veins; flesh white and substantial

Habitat:

Sitka spruce, vine maple, western hemlock, Douglas fir temperate rain forest

Notes:

these didn't grow in these woods for many years and last year or two have been fruiting more widely, in several new patches. Selective logging was done about 50 years ago.
