Field Notes

Description:

Big White beautiful and graceful ~ has black primaries and outer secondaries which i was hoping would up-load yesterday - fickle up-loaders! As seen overhead kettling above Halfbreed Nat'l Wildlife Reserve in South Central Montana.

Habitat:

ranges up through Canada Montana the Dakotas a bit of Wyoming and Nebraska over to parts of Utah, Idaho and Nevada and Oregon... does not dive for food as the Brown Pelican but gleens the waters with its troughy beak and often socially they create feeding frenzies when circling fish.

Notes:

i was just trying to figure out why i can only up load 2 pix - then either a dead upload or the 'add photo' is half off it's center ?
Needless to say i've a jones for the White Pelican
