Description:

Green stink or shield bug, came on on berries

Habitat:

Berry bushes, coastal temperate rain forest

Notes:

This bug was ingenious with righting itself when on its back; it didn't take more than a few seconds before it got its feet under it and flipped right side up.

Species ID Suggestions

Hard to tell - this might be an American type of Hawthorn Shield Bug or Birch Shield Bug. (Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale / Elasmostethus interstinctus) Both named are European species, though.
