This is a tussock moth. The loose cocoon with eggs is typical. The female is wingless. I have bred them out before. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7890973 and http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7993881
yeah! And I looking forward to get the name soon and follow the eggs.
What a strange creature. Cool pictures!
I don't know what type of bug is it. But the mom is very hairy and the nest as well.
