Field Notes

Description:

Vigorously vining plant featuring multi-colored berries that remind me of either Christmas tree ornaments or Easter eggs. Ampelopsis brevipedunculata is considered to be an invasive species. Special thanks to my new friend "AshleyBradford" for help in identifying this plant! http://www.projectnoah.org/users/AshleyBradford

Habitat:

The vining plant -- entangled with Jewelweed plants -- covered a broad area in a clearing of a deciduous forest, between two forks of an intermittent stream running through the "Wildlife Sanctuary," one of seven small parks owned and maintained by the Community Association of Hollin Hills, Fairfax County, Virginia USA.
