Description:

This spider had a huge open crack in its abdomen but acted healthy... It ran away after I took these pictures. It seemed to be living under a dead tree in a boggy area near Dolores, CO.

Thanks Sharon... I'll see if I can get closer to an ID. I see lots of similar spiders, but this was the only one with the huge crack in its back.
The shape of the body reminds me of the Genus Philodromus. Great photo!
It is really strange... I've never seen an animal that seemed so damaged act so ordinary. Thanks for the comment, Doina.
