33.1468, -117.009
Field Notes
Description:
Gray fuzzy moth-mimicking fly with fuzzy gray antlers about 5mm long. It has brown, rounded wings with a white pattern around the edges as well as a "V" in the middle of each one. The legs are black with white stripes. When you use the flash, the light reflects off the wings causing it to look blue.
Habitat:
Inside wall by the window. "Also known as "Drain Flies". They are strange little critters. Their maggots feed in wet or slightly wet decomposing matter, such as in gutters, poorly drained compost/leafmold piles, standing water and even dirty drains." - BugGuide
Notes:
Probably albipunctata species.
