Field Notes

Description:

Dusty Green to mottle brown wings, with white and brown band on ventral side of hind wing. Hind wings have tails.
Black and white banded antennae and appendages.

Habitat:

Found nectaring on Gooseneck loosestrife in my flower bed.

Notes:

*This spotting has 2 areas of damage to the wings.
I see these once a year, as there is Cedar trees growing in the area surrounding our mowed yard, between the old fields. Cedar is a host plant.
