Field Notes

Description:

Monarch Butterflies enjoying the nectar of the Marigold flowers.

Notes:

I happened upon these guys (gals) by chance this morning after letting the dog out. She ran around the corner of the house and took off toward the neighbors house. When I rounded the corner, I noticed one of them fluttering over the marigolds. I ran back in and grabbed my camera, switched out lenses, and rushed back out in time to catch these few photos before they flew off and away. :-D

So Beautiful! They must have been migrating through the area!
Thank you Misako!!! I was thrilled that I was able to capture these two going about their business. I have had a rough week the past week, weather is changing here in Western NY and it's been non-stop rain. This morning was the first in several that we only had light cloud cover and no rain. It was an awesome boost to be able to capture these images.
beautiful series of photos--love the colors!
