Field Notes

Description:

The gills beneath the cap are brighter, then turn black and secrete a black liquid filled with spores (hence the “ink -mushroom” name). This mushroom is unusual because it will turn black and dissolve itself in a matter of hours after being picked or depositing spores

Habitat:

on the dead log from my previous spotting

Notes:

i'm not really sure, but i suspect it is the very common "coprinus lagopus" . have seen this form before. but i wasn't here, when they were fresh, so i can only suspect it.
