Field Notes

Description:

This fig tree is half dead and half alive and I noticed the fungus growing out of the side of the tree. The woodpeckers like to work on the old trunk. The tree has huge stiff leaves that fall every winter and are a pain to clear away.

Habitat:

It did well here until the Electric company trimmed it back rather severely.
I have gotten some decent pictures of birds sitting on it because it is in one corner of my garden.
