Description:

A member of the Iris family. One of 16 species of the genus Neomarica, an exotic in Papua (Asia/Oceania), cultivated only. The genus is native to Africa and C. & S. America.

Habitat:

This spotting growing as an ornamental in a semi-urban garden in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.

Yes, indeed, it was the same :-)
I have one of these beautiful plants and the flowering stalks take root after bending over and making contact with the ground. The iris appears to be walking.
