Description:

This large bromeliad is surrounded by many smaller varieties of bromeliads. It can grow up to 1.5 meters, though it may take up to 10 years to do so. This one has been at work for a while. It stores quite a bit of water in the leaf bases and vases.

Habitat:

Native to Brazil in the mountains near Rio de Janeiro. Spotted growing in the US tropical south. FL gulf coast.
