I take back my suggestion of willet, as I didn't really account for how uniform they are in colour. So I looked at others in the Tringa genus, I think now this is a solitary sandpiper! The pattern on the wing is most consistent with what I've found of solitary sandpipers and it has the white eye ring. Definitely something in Tringa genus... do you have any other photos of it from other angles?
i think it looks a lot like a lesser or greater yellow legs though i cant really see its legs http://www.sfgate.com/blogs/images/sfgate/chrongreen/2008/07/25/Lesser_Yellow_Legs399x266.jpg http://www.gpnc.org/ylegsG.htm
To me it looks more like a willet, the beak isn't short enough and the body not compact enough to be a sandpiper I think. Beautiful photos, very serene :)
