Field Notes

Description:

Kallitaxila granulata Stål, 1870. Tropiduchidae; Tropiduchinae; Tambiini. This is a small Planthopper, about 5mm long. The wings are reminiscent of those of Neuroptera, in that they are quite translucent and have very striking veining.

Habitat:

Spotted on the leaf of a young sapling Jack Fruit Tree (Artocarpus heterophilius) in our front yard.

Notes:

I have some notes that I saw similar specimens on Project Noah:
www.projectnoah.org/spottings/15896533 and www.projectnoah.org/spottings/16224157, but I was unable to reach these pages today probably because I have poor WiFi signal.
