Hi Ann! Please include this too to our mission "Moths in the Philippines".. Thanks! Best... leana
Just realized that Eric spotted a moth which looks pretty much identical.... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7341880
http://www.sphin-sea.unibas.ch/SphinSEA/species%20pages/Mar_amboinicus.htm AND http://www.boldsystems.org/views/taxbrowser.php?taxid=93477 esp. the 4th photo...??
Well the genus looks promising. The range on that site was far north of the Philippines. Maybe M. amboinicus merits a look. (Not found on that website though).
This looks like the hawk/ sphinx moth Marumba jankowskii... http://tpittaway.tripod.com/china/m_jan.htm .... Anyone like to confirm this ID? Or disagree with it?
