Field Notes

Description:

Tiny butterfly - resting with wings closed, possibly to avoid the heat of the day. A distinct 'tail' would suggest possibly long/short tailed blue but only one 'eye' in evidence on the under-wing.

Habitat:

Seemed quite widespread - mountain scrub to local town

Notes:

This is by far the smallest butterfly that I have seen. Its possibly a Long-Tailed Blue (Lampides boeticus) but this is unconfirmed as the eye spots seem at odds.
