Field Notes

Description:

A relatively large buprestid with two yellow bands on a metallic blue background color.

Habitat:

Feeding on nectar of flowering ti-tree

Notes:

I only saw one of these. It was very alert and perched on the well flowering and higher part of the bushes. I caught it for a posed shot, lest it leave without a portrait.
I suspected C. bimaculata but this name belongs to a different species.
