Field Notes

Description:

A patch of Russula mushrooms with deep red caps and white stipes. Gills are cream to pale yellow. Spore print is also pale yellow.

Russula species are notoriously difficult to identify. There are 750 known species worldwide.

Habitat:

Growing in an open field of grass under a pine tree
