What a cool harvestman!
Aaron, I am still in shock after looking at all the weird Harvestmen on the link you added….unbelievable!
Amazing! Can't believe those huge….. Chelicerae?
Definitely an Opiliones with the 2 fused body segments giving the appearance of a single segment. All other arachnids have 2 body parts, a cephalothorax and an abdomen. It's a great looking beast, and I wish I could help more with the ID.
Mac, my first thought was Opiliones, and a fantastic one at that.
There are some really interesting harvestman species on this page: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/artour_a/sets/72157612394844012/
WOW!! If you would have told me this was some sort of "Lobster" I would have believed you!! That is a very beautiful, and very strange spider, it looks as if the body is hard??!! It is gorgeous!!
Is it claws it has in the front? Very nice!
Looks like a harvestman (Order Opiliones) with giant pedipalps. Super find!
