Field Notes

Description:

This guy crawled onto the gutter drain while I was standing on the deck box, waiting for some birds to photograph. He didn't notice me at first, but as soon as I positioned my camera to photo him, he let out a silly squeal, and hid inside the top drain hole. I stood completely still waiting for the moment he would appear again, and sooner or later he came out!

Later I found him at the bottom of the squirrel-feeder, which had been recently taken over by a chickadee and a nuthatch, picking up the leftover corn and stuffing as much as he could into his cheeks before the fighting birds came back.

That is just adorable! Great photos.
I will have to remember the Giggling trick! Nice story. and Picture.
I was giggling while I was waiting, because he was so cute! I think that is what brought him out: to figure out what that strange noise was! Hahaha
They are such cute little guys!
