Description:

This fig tree was noted for its large brightly colored leaves (2nd & 3rd pictures) & the fact that is is currently bearing fruit. This tree welcomes guest to the gardens and the extension service.

Habitat:

Forests in moist valleys. Found in Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Burma, China, and Japan

I am not sure that they are edible. Ashish has discussed which figs are edible and which would make you sick. I just can't find the spotting to which that discussion was attached.
