Tiger Moth
Bertholdia flavidorsalis
11.1344, -74.0813
Field Notes
Description:
Medium to small tiger moth. Brown, orange, yellow and white with fluorescent blue on the body (that's hidden in this photo).
Habitat:
This particular one: North-Eastern Colombia, on the slopes of the San Lorenzo Ridge in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, above the town of Santa Marta, Colombia and buzzing around the nightlight, as moths do.
Notes:
There are no less than a gazillion moths here and I can't figure out if some are just different-colored versions of the same genus (genus?) or are all different genuses. Any input welcome.
